Review: Taylormade Milled Grind 3 Wedges

After 7 years it was time to finally get some new wedges. I opted for the TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 wedges as I have always been partial to TaylorMade products. I got a 52° with 9°of bounce, 56° with 11° of bounce, and a 60° with 8° of bounce.

The thing that really caught me about this particular wedge was the look. Due to that, I ordered them online without ever seeing one in person. I wasn't too worried as I have had Taylormade wedges before and know the quality. The chrome look is what I like and the blue MG3 logo is a nice touch.

Once I received them and put them in my hand I knew I made a good purchase choice. The weight of each wedge feels great in my hands. Out on the course, the weight feels even better. It makes you feel you have 100% control of the club. The weight also makes the clubhead glide smoothly through the sand. Even though I had the same lofts and club length on my old wedges I believe the weight of these wedges being slightly heavier is also why I hit each wedge a good 5-yards longer, even with my half shots.

The TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 Wedges perform just as I would expect. When the ball comes off the clubface there is a soft feel and that is exactly what I want in a wedge. Full shots, half shots, bunker shots, or out the rough you get the same feeling. The last thing a golfer wants is a feeling like hitting a rock, especially on pitch and chip shots. Just like putting a softer feel allows you to control distance better.

I definitely recommend TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 wedges for anyone that wants a better feel in their wedges. They are available for customization from TaylorMade Golf, where you can customize colors and even add initials, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Worldwide Golf Shops.
