I was in the market for a new belt. I knew I wanted something different than the traditional golf belts that didn't stretch or twist on my waist every time I took a swing. I did a search for tactical belts, as I knew if they are strong enough to hold a holster and keep things in place it would be good for golf. The search results were not that great at first and many of the belts were not golfer friendly but more for law enforcement. Then suddenly I found one that not only had the styles I was looking for but also features I didn't know I needed.
That company was Mission Belt. A company that not only has belts in a variety of styles but also many different types of materials as well. Italian leather, nylon, and canvas are just a few. They have belts for men and women, team and flag-themed buckle options, and gift sets. After researching their website and company I reached out and ask for more information and if they would be willing to send a belt for me to review. They actually sent me two. One, the Caddy Full-Grain from their Boss collection, is golf specific with a golf ball dimple pattern on it. This is also the one you will see me wearing in the review video below. The other is their Nylon Tactical Grey with swat black buckle.
Why did I choose Mission Belt?
There are a few things that really caught my attention about this company. The most important things were the functionality of their belts. Cu
No Holes - This eliminates the worry of holes stretching out through wear
Adjustability - With a ratchet-type closure that can be adjusted every 1/4 inch you can get a more perfect fit. This also means it will always fit on those days you may lose or gain a few pounds.
Easy use - The way the belts are designed makes it very easy to get on and off. Each notch allows the belt to be securely fastened and there is a mini lever to unlock the belt to take it off.
Mix and Match - You can purchase multiple belts with different buckle styles and colors. Each one is interchangeable allowing you to mix and match different buckles on different belt straps.
Hangers - Not sure if they come with every belt but it is a great accessory to be able to hang your belts like you do your clothes (pictured above). Gone are the days of tossing belts over regular hangers or rolled up in a drawer.
Those were just the reasons I like the belts, but what I found out after is what made my final decision to contact Mission Belt, and why I like them as a company as they have a true Mission. With every purchase of a Mission Belt, a dollar is donated to help fight hunger and poverty through micro-lending. Here is an overview direct from the company:
"Mission belt is a belt company that donates a dollar from each belt to fight hunger and poverty through micro-lending. The belts are designed to fit perfectly without any holes, so that you can tighten them to your exact liking.
“When you buy a Mission Belt you become a part of a great philanthropic effort - or as we like to call it, THE MISSION. Here at MISSION BELT, we don't just want you to look good - we want you to feel good too. That's why a dollar from every belt goes to fight hunger and poverty worldwide through micro-lending. Micro-loans range from $25-$500 dollars per loan. Small loans make HUGE differences. There are millions of industrious, motivated people striving for a better life, and sometimes the only thing holding them back is a little capital to get started. It's a hand-up, not a hand-out.
We've partnered with Kiva, a peer-to-peer micro-lending institution, to help get our Mission
Loans out to the world. Rather than a handout, micro-loans invest in individuals with an idea and the desire to work who don't have access to traditional sources of capital. You can learn more about the loans we have provided and the people we have invested in by visiting our Kiva Lending Page. You can also join us in our lending efforts as a friend of Mission Belt. Thanks for being part of the Mission. We couldn't do it without our loyal customers.”
After a day on the golf course wearing my Mission Belt, I can honestly say this is the best belt I have ever worn playing golf. The belt stayed in place every swing, with no moving the belt buckle back to center, and I never felt like the belt was pulling or stretching in any way. The fit always felt great and I never felt a need to adjust it. Although I did play with the adjustment just to see how it felt tighter and looser on my waist. Even though I made some swings with the belt loosened the buckle still stayed in place. The same when I tightened it. Plus the designs are very stylish. I highly recommend to anyone that is in the market for a belt to give Mission Belt a try. You will love them as much as I do. I even mention in the video buying some for family as Christmas gifts.
