Yesterday was the deadline for players to enter the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and this year is looking to be another great tournament. The fun starts this week as players start arriving in town for their practice rounds and Pro-Ams Monday thru Wednesday. The official action starts on Thursday 4/25.
This year marks the 20th year of having Zurich North America as the Title Sponsor. The partnership between Zurich and the Fore Kids Foundation has brought $30+ Million in charitable contributions to the New Orleans area. Fortune Magazine did a great write-up about this - Celebrating 20 years of The Zurich Classic. Zurich North America also took a Look Back On 20 Years of The Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
The field features 15 or the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings. At the top of that list is Rory McIlroy, the biggest name to come to the Zurich Classic since Phil Mickelson was last here in 2006. This is the first time Rory has played in the Zurich Classic and is paired with Shane Lowry.
Defending Champions Nick Hardy and Davis Riley and 2022 Champions Xander Schauffle and Patrick Cantlay return with hopes of winning the Zurich Classic again. They will be joined by other top names that include Zurich ambassadors, Colin Morikawa, Billy Horshel, and Sahith Theegala, as well as 2022 U.S. Open Champion, Matt Fitzpatrick, and current U.S. Open Champion, Wyndham Clark.
The Zurich Classic's Best Of The Zurich Tickets were voted Best Product On The PGA Tour. That is out of every Tour event for 2023. With some of the best food New Orleans has to offer to some of the best viewing areas on the entire golf course we can attest the Best Of Zurich tickets are the best bang for your buck.
The Zurich also features one of the best after-parties of all tour stops. The 19th hole has great food and beverages, great viewing of the 9th hole, and a live band on Friday and Saturday after all the players have completed play. On Sunday the after-party continues and is usually honored by a visit from the tournament winners.
Although we are a little partial we think the Zurich Classic of New Orleans has the best fan experience, full of family-friendly fun, with some great golf by some of the best in the world. The best part is that 100% of the profits from the tournament go to charity. To date, the Fore Kids Foundation, the force behind the Zurich Classic has raised over $45 Million for charity. This impacts over 200,000 children annually.
