Many of you already know Golf Nola has been involved with the Cancer Crusader Golf Tournament in one way or another for the past couple of years. This year will be no different. This is an event we find to be a very worthy cause and the best part is all the money raised stays local.
What is Cancer Crusaders?
“Cancer Crusaders of Louisiana is a local, all-volunteer (over 600 members), nonprofit organization, which began in 1976 for the sole purpose of raising money for local cancer research. We are not affiliated with any other organization either locally or nationally. The money raised is divided evenly each year between LSUHSC Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center and Tulane Cancer Center to support cancer research. With the generous donations of our supporters, we have raised over $5 Million for cancer research since our inception. “
This year is the 15th annual Cancer Crusaders Golf Tournament. Each year the tournament grows, it gets better. For this year’s tournament, they have increased the prizes and have a new tournament website, CCLAGolf.com, and are adding more prizes you can win. Two hole-in-one prizes and 3 guaranteed prizes for closest to the hole, a putting contest, and a raffle. There are two donation contests with a golf long drive professional and a beat the pro, which will be our own Golf Nola owner Kyle Hrubes.
